Children Singing
Beginning this Sunday, Sunday School will end with a short session of singing with Joy Cox and Joseph Bray. Children will go directly from class to the Nave.
Women’s Synaxis
We have been working out a schedule for regular monthly gatherings for the men, women, and teens of the parish. These gatherings include a meal and a teaching from Fr Daniel. They are intended to be social and at the same time edifying. The first hour is for eating and socializing (bring your own food) and the second hour for study.
What to bring: Food and Bible
When: October 1st at 10am-12pm
Where: St. Anne’s
We will be studying the Book of Titus for the next few meetings. Please read the first chapter ahead of the meeting.
Children Post-Liturgy
Due to the new flow of things and the influx of new children I thought it would be a good time for a friendly reminder that we cannot let children roam free inside or outside. Parental supervision is necessary at all times. We have been asked to keep children away from the courtyard next door. Also, we should strive to keep our children out of the creek bed in the back of the property.
Transition from Sunday School back to Parents
We will be ringing a bell when Sunday School dismisses to alert parents to gather their children from Sunday School.
Weekday Liturgies
We have added some early morning (6:30 am) weekday Divine Liturgies to the calendar. Upcoming in October we have the following:
St. Innocent of Moscow, Apostle to America on the 6th;
Apostle and Evangelist Luke on the 18th;
St. Demetrios the Myrrh-gusher of Thessaloniki on the 26th.
Blankets - Thank you!
Thanks to all who came to make blankets on Saturday. We will give them to Choices Resource Center and to Project Linus, to comfort children and adults. We had a blessed time of working together.
Thanks to Laura and Alex Canellas; Stephanie, Kate and Anne Davis; Brenda De Armond; Melissa Grubbs; Olga Lysenko; Kelli, MacKenzie, and Stephanie McMahon; Priscilla, Anna Sophia, Seraphima, and Christina Pace; Alecia and Anorra Rogers; Catie Thompson; and donations from the Dale family. In addition to making blankets, quite a few adults learned how to use a sewing machine.
